Cyber Safety Awareness MOOC
As technology becomes integrated into the daily lives of individuals, those using cyberspace are confronted with the challenge to protect their personal information. Cyber users are accessing cyberspace but lack the knowledge and skills on how to protect themselves and their information within cyberspace. Cyber users search for information, education, socialise and conduct work. However, when cyber users access cyber space they are vulnerable to cyber risks if they do not have the needed knowledge and skills, resulting in cyber users becoming cyber victims. To address this identified challenge, this MOOC will focus on a basic introduction of cyber safety awareness. This MOOC will provide cyber users (teachers) with the knowledge and skills to identify possible cyber risks and counter measures to minimise these risks.
The main purpose of the MOOC is about the Cyber Safety Awareness Toolkit that is for public knowledge consumption by all cyber users to grow a cybersafety culture within South African schools.
